Where

Rainforests of Kunanyi/Mount Wellington

$120

Join Daniel Bar-Ness from Big Tree Expeditions on a rainforest mushroom appreciation expedition within the spectacular rainforests of Kunanyi/Mount Wellington.

The venue will be the tall wet eucalyptus forests and the lush evergreen rainforests of Tasmania's south.

Joining Daniel will be Kim Ogden from Elysian Landscape & Nature Photography. Helping you to take magnificent fungi photo's with DSLR cameras or smart phones. Giving you the expert tips for using both.

Spend a couple of hours scouting for fungi along the trail, and focus on skills for discovering and photographing beautiful mushrooms in wild places. Youll get the opportunity to work on developing a toolkit for finding mushrooms by habitat type and touch on the parts of mushroom identification and biodiversity science. Along the way, they will be chats about the potential for fungi within the tourism, wellness, and biodiversity conversation space.

We'll focus on appreciation, joy, surprise, and awe... and save hard science, taxonomy, and difficult identifications for another day (unless of course you have questions!)

Note, numbers are limited at 14

Meet at the playground opposite Fern Tree Tavern from 9.45am.
